Elephants Dying in Epic Frenzy as Ivory Fuels Wars and Profits

In Garamba National Park in Africa 22 dead elephants found dead with only their tusks missing but all the meat still there. There were not tracks indicating the poachers were stalking the elephants and it was unusual that no meat was taken because normally poachers take some meat for the walk home. Several days later Garamba park guards spotted a military helicopter flying unusually low over the park.

  1. How awful that this could happen. As a hunter I think that it is completely wrong to kill an animal for just one part of the body, especially when it is for something as small as the bones that protrude from the thick beautiful skin of an elephant. The fact that the elephants were killed in mass and only for their ivory tusks is sickening. It would seem that the military was doing this without the knowledge of any in the national park. Isn't a national park suppose to be for the protection of animals living there? Isn't poaching illegal? Isn't it ironic that the military is suspected for this action?
